The Sigma Beta Club is a youth auxiliary of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., dedicated to the educational, cultural, social, and personal development of young men. Founded on the principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service, the Sigma Beta Club empowers youth through mentorship, leadership training, academic support, and community involvement. Our goal is to help young men become positive, successful leaders in their schools, communities, and future careers.
Our History
In 1950, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. became the first Greek organization to create a youth auxiliary: the Sigma Beta Club, founded by Dr. Parlette L. Moore. Recognizing the changing needs of our communities, Brother Moore saw the vital role Sigma men could play in mentoring young men. The Sigma Beta Club focuses on four key areas: Culture, Athletics, Social, and Education, offering young men leadership training, academic support, and life skills needed for success. Members were trained in leadership, parliamentary procedures, and community service while receiving academic tutoring and personal development support. Thanks to the commitment of their advisors, hundreds of young men have been inspired to pursue college and excellence in all areas of life.
